What does it mean to be a Born Again American?

At first glance the term "Born Again American" reeks of patriotism and Christian values. The Born Again American website is very attractive and has a music video of a very moving song depicting what the citizens of America is going through today. The site is all about volunteering in the community, voting, and communicating with our elected officials. These are all things that all Americans should do, but on the very last page, the one titled "Take the Next Step" the fog clears and the real agenda becomes obvious. There it says that to find out more about protecting basic American freedoms you can go to the People for the American Way website. From the content of this website it is obvious it is all about the liberal agenda. So it seems that the Born Again American website is another example of deception in our world, putting a happy face on movements in our society that is chopping away at the foundation of what the good people that formed our great nation believed in. It is a front for the liberal agenda, the movement that advocates the killing of our babies, same sex marriage, and other things that the Holy Bible teaches against. It is a deception in that it seeks support for these liberal views by putting a feel good wrapper around what is really going on. Today it is so important to listen to the definition of the words being spoken as ever so often they have a different meaning than what you might think. Being a Christian does not mean "trying to be a good person". It means being "In Christ", accepting Him as Lord and Savior and obeying His word. The Bible is not just some historical book, it is The Word of God. And the Bible says Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. There is no other way. (John 14:6) So, to me being a Born Again American means just that... Born Again = I've accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior & American = An American Citizen, concerned about the direction that our nation is heading. |
